The Lanesville Emergency Action Program (LEAP) is a group of Lanesville neighbors.
LEAP’s mission is to mobilize neighbors in times of emergency by education of the community prior to an emergency, and action to support those in need during and following events such as blizzards, fires, floods, hurricanes, and power outages.
LEAP is concerned about those events that affect single individuals as well as those that have a community-wide impact. When 911 emergency services are not available or sufficient, LEAP will offer assistance to the Lanesville community. LEAP does not replace 911 emergency services, it is meant to complement these essential City services.
As LEAP matures and grows, it plans to share what it has learned with surrounding neighborhoods and communities interested in developing similar emergency programs. LEAP is described in detail in a written plan that is available to the community.
