This is an event designed to promote community participation and raise funds for LEAP, a volunteer group that provides services to the members of the community in times of emergency or disaster as well as health and safety educational events throughout the year. Let us know how we can help you!

Directions: 128 north past exit 12 and over Annisquam River bridge to Grant Circle Rotary. At rotary, take 127 North toward Annisquam for 4.4 miles. You will pass through the village of Lanesville. Route 127 will continue to the left, stay to the right onto Washington St. You will see the St. Pauls Lutheran Church on your right. Turn right here on Morgan St. This is the primary parking area. Walk up Morgan St to the Lanesville Community Center for check-in and events. Link to Mapquest.

Parking: St. Paul's Lutheran Church 1123 Washington St. Gloucester, MA 01930 (corner of Washington and Morgan Sts). Please, NO PARKING on Vulcan Street or Morgan St! These are part of the road races.

Check-in for road races: 8:30-9:45 am Lanesville Community Center, 8 Vulcan St.. Gloucester, MA 01930.

Whistleblowers 4K road race: 10:00 am 4k loop course throughout the Lanesville area, beginning and ending at the Lanesville Community Center. Course is mostly flat, tree-lined streets as well as passage by the historic, picturesque Lanes Cove. The roads will NOT be closed to traffic but busiest areas will only allow traffic in one direction with other lane reserved for runners. Traffic monitors to stop traffic at cross roads. Some uneven surfaces along Lanes Cove Road and a few sharp turns. Race price includes BBQ and participation in all other events. Prizes for top 3 men, top 3 women and top male and female Lanesville residents. No frills, non-electronic timing. No bikes, roller blades, wheeled vehicles. Whistleblowers 1 mile fun run/walk: 10:10 am. Loop that begins and ends at the Lanesville Community Center. This is a flat, tree-lined course that ends with a short uphill. This is a road course that has some sidewalks. Roads will NOT be closed but will be one-way to traffic with the other lane for walkers/runners. One water stop. Walkers may be held up briefly at road crossings. Fun run price includes BBQ and all other events. There are no age restrictions on participating in this event. All are welcome! Whistleblowers 4K Prize Presentation: 11:00-11:15 am. Prizes awarded followed by the Raffle drawing for the 4K race participants.

Raffle Drawing: 11:15 am and 1:00 pm-ish. Tickets $1, 6 for $5! Don't miss your chance for winning prizes donated by local vendors on the North Shore. 11:15 am drawing will be for those involved with the Whistleblowers 4K Road Race and will be in conjunction with the presentation of trophies for the road race winners. 1:00 pm raffle will be for event participants who have purchased raffle tickets. Barbecue: 11:30- 1:30. Enjoy a traditional July 4th cook-out with hamburgers/veggie burgers, hotdogs, chips, lemonade, and watermelon. Bratwurst and fried onions while they last! Limited BBQ* available for age 6 and under that includes one hot dog, lemonade and watermelon. Games are included with this.

Games: 12:00- 1:00 pm. Participate in traditional July 4th games such as sack races, 3-legged race, wheelbarrow race, water balloon toss and tug-o-war!SCAVENGER HUNT: Pick up your list at 11:00am of common local items that you search the area for (your house, your neighbors, your friends). Be the team of 1 to 4 people to bring back the most items on the list (by 2pm), and get up to 4 free passes at LASER QUEST!

Float-building/bike decorating: 1:00-2:00 pm Help complete the L.E.A.P. Whistleblower Float to enter in the Lanesville July 4th parade. Materials also available to decorate bikes (or yourself) for the parade! Come on out and use your imagination!
